Magnum Chic Dream Becomes NRHA’s Newest $15 Million Sire

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) proudly recognizes Magnum Chic Dream as its newest $15 Million Sire, adding another remarkable achievement to the legacy of one of the sport’s most influential stallions.

The 1996 stallion, by Smart Chic Olena and out of Sailin Barbee, was bred by Guy A. Du Ponchel and is owned by Viola Scott. Throughout his legendary career, Magnum Chic Dream established himself as both an elite competitor and one of the industry’s most prolific sires, shaping generations of reining athletes around the world.

A member of the NRHA Hall of Fame since 2016, Magnum Chic Dream has sired nearly 900 NRHA money-earning offspring and has more than 30 progeny with over $100,000 in NRHA lifetime earnings. His influence continues to be felt at the highest levels of competition, with offspring consistently reaching the winner’s circle at NRHA’s premier events.

Leading the charge among his highest-earning offspring is Customize My Dream, out of Gunna Be Custom. Bred and owned by Devin Warren and nominated by Garth Hystad, the standout stallion has amassed earnings of $493,054, highlighted by winning the 2025 NRHA Level 4 Open Derby Championship.

Close behind is Mr Farenheit, out of Wimpy Little Girl, with $455,897.15 in earnings. Bred and nominated by Peter Morgan and owned by Morin and Vandorp, Mr Farenheit has become one of Magnum Chic Dream’s most accomplished performers.

Another major contributor to the milestone is Belissimo, out of Americasnextgunmodel, who captured the 2025 NRHA Level 4 Open Futurity Championship. Owned, bred, and nominated by Arcese Quarter Horses USA, Belissimo has earned $423,797.77.

  • Custom Dreams (out of Gunna Be Custom), bred and nominated by Devin Warren and owned by Custom Dreams Brazil, with earnings of $394,033.33
  • Magnums Custom Dream (out of Gunna Be Custom), bred and nominated by Garth Hystad and owned by Casey Hinton, with earnings of $305,139.73

From futurity champions and derby winners to consistent performers across every level of competition, Magnum Chic Dream’s offspring have built a reputation for talent, trainability, and longevity. As his progeny continue to excel in arenas worldwide, his impact on the sport only grows stronger.
