The National Reining Horse Association is proud to announce that Gabriel Borges has officially surpassed $1 million in NRHA Lifetime Earnings, becoming the association’s newest Million Dollar Rider following his performance at the 2025 NRHA Futurity®. Borges reached the milestone after a strong showing in the Open Finals, where his results pushed his career earnings beyond the seven-figure mark and secured his place among an elite group of NRHA Professionals.
Borges’ ascent to Million Dollar Rider status is the result of sustained excellence across reining’s most competitive stages, including futurities, derbies, and premier aged events. In the days leading up to the 2025 NRHA Open Futurity Finals, Borges topped the preliminary round leaderboard with a 226 aboard Howdreamsrmade (Magnum Chic Dream x Gotta Diamond Lady) owned by Carla Hardin and nominated by breeder Mark Wrissman, setting the pace for one of the deepest Open fields of the year. He later returned to claim Co-Reserve Champion honors aboard TR Git R Done (Inferno Sixty Six x Whizzen For Chex) owned by Triple R Equine LLC and nominated by breeder Tamarack Ranch LLC, marking a 226.5 to earn $130,000.
Throughout his career, a significant portion of Borges’ earnings have come aboard OO7 (Gunner Dun It Again x Solidly Spirited) owned by Sandy Vargo and nominated by breeder Lorenz Mueller, a partnership that produced multiple high-profile wins and placings at the sport’s most lucrative events. However, Borges’ success across a wide variety of horses underscores the depth of his training program, adaptability in the show pen, and consistent ability to produce results at the highest level of competition.
